Andromeda 04:22
Evenings, a tidal wave of feelings Rush in like a sea of worry from above Believe me, there’s a subtle breeze with A transcendental healing That comes from being loved How did you get this far Lost among the stars Not knowing where you are Or when you’re coming home You’re a distant galaxy Nowhere close to me But you don’t have to be Out there on your own If I could find your constellation I’d set my destination for The deep space in your eyes And I would, I'd build you a great city And point out all the beauty In every sign of life CHORUS There’s a black hole coming And you can’t turn away Send out a message And I’ll be on my way CHORUS
2.
Its 2:33, the space in between Not quite awake and not quite a dream Trapped in a forest of wallpaper trees Numberless shadows wrap fear around me Is it just a restless mind or Maybe it’s the food I ate last night It’s 2:33 and I don’t feel right Its 2:33, and I can’t break free I’m counting the seconds while my love is counting her sheep What if a thief breaks in and he can’t hear my plea Can I protect the children as a helpless detainee CHORUS Then I scream and shout At the top of my lungs For somebody to let me out Not a sound is heard With my paralyzed words An invisible mushroom cloud Hanging over me CHORUS
3.
Lost the beat, lost the fight Got no shelter in the dark cold night Lost direction, lost my mind Don't know how I'm gonna make it right Cause I need your love to guide me I need you in my sight I'm wide awake since you've been gone And I'm feeling all alone I've got a serious condition Won't you fix my broken heart There's a reason I can't sleep Yeah I need you here with me Only you can bring back sanity Be my ghost in the mirror Be a starless sky at night Be a shadow in the graveyard Just enough to scare me back to life Broken string on my guitar Just a light from a dying star I am tired, I am cold Overserved and undersold Can this ember bring me heat Or will the ashes bring relief Only you can be my remedy CHORUS Baby I'm fallin', baby I'm fallin' Won't you save me? CHORUS
4.
I forgot how the blue the sky can be On a cloudless day like a movie scene A midday moon hanging over me Appears when it’s not supposed to be Caught in the middle of a daydream Reminds me that I'm allowed to be Something you ain’t never seen Something you ain’t never seen Now Jesus is a friend to me Gives me hope when I’m in need But his church is filled with crooks & thieves So I practice faith by absentee I keep my head up and my nails clean And push on when it’s hard to believe in Something you ain’t never seen Something you ain’t never seen ________________________________________ Man, what you think, you can think what you thinkin Ya think that I care that you offended when I ain’t mean what you thinkin Ya see I’ve been in the deep end with demons breedin’ all weekend They seize an opportunity they see they gleam on a weakness While they convene on their beaches, a bunch of leechous elitists It’s so convenient preachin peace while all the cheaters deceive us I concede that all these heathens are schemin to lead us To a place where they can bleed us and delete all our freedoms Turn the other cheek dear, ain’t you the sweetest And now I’m a bad apple cause my trachea deepened So praise Jesus, if he appeared you’d just call the police So how am I to believe it that you ain’t callin ta greed You need to disinfect yo closets cause we in need a vaccines Clean up, in every aisle … we got rats in the chi See I don’t buy what you sellin, so you can keep the receipts You seem ta think that I’m rebelling cause I ain’t seen what you seen   _________________________________________________________ Some folks drive at lightning speed Others pray for quick relief Why don’t you be you, I’ll be me A midday moon with a quiet breeze Out of place but well-received Thank God I'm allowed to be Something you ain’t never seen Something you ain’t never seen Caught in the middle of a daydream Reminds me that I'm allowed to be Something you ain’t never seen Something you ain’t never seen

about

It is indeed an understatement to say singer/songwriter Erik Kjelland has a restless mind, always spinning "what's next" scenarios and "with whom" questioning, sometimes in his sleep and most times when he should be sleeping. While not his preferred method of creation-to-completion, this forced isolation period away from bandmates as well as the sudden 24/7 home status of his wife and three kids became both the obstacle and the muse for Erik Kjelland's new solo EP album, The Andromeda EP. Kjelland used the digital tools available to him to bring this collection of tunes to life, with socially-distant assists from other home-captive friends. He uses songwriting and album-making as a tangible point of focus during these surreal and blurry days.

about

The Mascot Theory Madison, Wisconsin

The Mascot Theory sound has roots in the Americana genre, but the new album leans heavily into classic rock influences; harmonies that bring to mind the Eagles or America, a bit of that Rolling Stones guitar swagger, a little ZZ Top blues rock, a dash of the Pink Floyd mood, but never straying far from the core of the Tom Petty/Beatles/Poco-esque importance of solid melody and lyrics. ... more
